After a three year period working offshore in the oil and gas sector he came back on land and joined the UKHO as an ENC complier in 2003. Over the last 10 years Tom has held many different positions within the UKHO, all focused on digital navigation products, and is now heavily involved with the development and maintenance of International Hydrographic Organisation (IHO) and International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) standards. He is the Chairman of the IHO ENC Working Group (ENCWG) leading on all aspects of ENC content and ECDIS display. Tom has a vast amount of expertise and knowledge of emerging IHO standards S-100 and S-101, and took responsibility for drafting the first product specification of S-101. Other duties see him responsible for the UKHO technical programme, providing consultancy to ECDIS OEMs and third party developers who use ADMIRALTY Maritime Data Solutions in their applications. Most recently Tom has been a key note speaker for the series of ADMIRALTY Living with ECDIS seminars held globally.

During this time he has managed AVCS and the Planning Chart portfolio. He has also been involved in many high-profile projects, including the development of new products and changes to our services to meet new industry regulations.During his career, Nick has worked closely with the distribution network to ensure customers needs are met, and that our products remain aligned to the industry’s evolving requirements. Nick was the Product Manager for Port Approach Guides during their successful launch, and was heavily involved in their development and implementation. He is now product owner for e-NP.

After 19 years in this position, she moved into Maritime Safety Information as the Notice to Mariners (NM) Support Manager, remaining there for a seven year period. In 2006, she re-trained as a Cartographer compiling SNC’s before becoming the Distributor Audit Manager in 2009. Zena has a vast amount of expertise and knowledge of the application of updates on SNC’s. Other duties see her responsible for undertaking the UKHO Chart Updating Courses.Over the last 36 years Zena has held many different positions within the organisation. They have been all focused on paper chart products including the updating of charts and managing the production of the tracings. She now manages and conducts all the chart audits within the UKHO distributor network.

Prior to which, he was working with Singapore Technologies as a Project Engineer for system integration projects for naval vessels. Clive is currently a senior member of the technical support team where he focuses on resolving customer technical queries, is heavily involved in product and service improvement projects, technical consultancy and conducts product training. He has also presented various successful product seminars in Asia Pacific.

She was heavily involved in its setup, recruitment of sales and technical personnel, as well as working closely with the chart agents and users in the region to support ADMIRALTY’s growth within the SOLAS digital navigation market. Melissa is currently leading a team in Singapore that includes Account Managers, Technical Support and Sales support.Over the last five years, Melissa has held many different positions within the organisation all focused on taking ADMIRALTY products to a higher level in the marine industry. She works closely with the Hydrographic Office in Asia and Australasia, Ship Owners’ Associations and also ship owners in the region. This has enabled her to develop a comprehensive understanding of the marine industry in different cultures.

Jason now leads a team of Product Managers responsible for the UKHO’s portfolio of ADMIRALTY charts and publications in both paper and digital form.After joining the UKHO in 1993 with a degree in Mathematics from Cambridge University, Jason spent several years as a graduate trainee, developing knowledge and experience across the business. In the mid-90s, Jason was part of the international team that developed the International Hydrographic Organization (IHO) standards for ECDIS and the ENCs used today. After a number of years exploring opportunities for the wider use of marine information in sectors such as offshore energy and marine spatial planning, Jason returned to managing safety of navigation products. He was part of the team that launched the hugely successful ADMIRALTY Vector Chart Service (AVCS) and assumed responsibility for it as Product Manager at its launch. He oversaw its growth in to the most successful ENC service available today, including the addition of the ADMIRALTY Information Overlay. Now a Senior Product Manager, Jason has led teams responsible for both charts and publications, in both paper and electronic forms. Engagement with distributors, customers and end users has given him extensive knowledge of the challenges faced by the shipping industry as it transitions from paper to digital navigation. As a registered Chartered Marketer with the UK’s Chartered Institute of Marketing, Jason is a recognised expert in managing products and services through all stages of the product lifecycle and is now bringing this knowledge to bear across the UKHO’s product range.

During this time she has worked in Customer Services before joining the Product Management team in 2014.Michelle has spent her time working in Customer Division at the UKHO. She remains customer focused, meaning she always puts the customers’ needs at the forefront of any development and product activities she is involved in. Her role has taken her on a variety of worldwide visits including Maris in Norway, SMM International Maritime trade fair in Hamburg and CSMART in the Netherlands. She has also had the privilege of being on board ship at Royal Portbury Dock to see our products in use. Currently, Michelle is the Product Manager for EasyTide, Leisure and Planning and Reference Charts. Michelle became a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing after completing her Level 4 qualifications, graduating with Merit.

Guy has managed a wide range of ADMIRALTY digital and printed products including SNCs, ENCs, ARCS, Planning Charts, several publications, and several digital service levels such as PAYS. He has also delivered numourous presentations internationally promoting the safe use of digital charting alongside traditional paper charts. Recently he has been posted to ‘The Office of Coast Survey’ which is the charting division of NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) in Washington DC. Guy is successfully managing a close working relationship with our US colleagues, in exchange hosting their staff working at the UKHO offices.

He served mainly in dry bulk carriers, tramping worldwide, which took him to places well off the beaten track. Whilst raising a family, Chris and his wife ran their own specialist retail chain with stores and websites for 20 years. Returning to his maritime roots by joining UKHO, Chris has been an Editor of Sailing Directions and Marine Advisor to the Product Management team. As Product Manager, he has been associated with the launch and development of ADMIRALTY e-Navigator and other software applications for more than seven years and is the Product Manager for AVCS.

During this time he worked in the operations department before moving into commercial as a Product Manager in 2011. Nathanael has a wealth of knowledge about ADMIRALTY Maritime Data Solutions. Currently, he is the Product Manager for the Fleet Manager and B2B ordering services, having previously managed ADMIRALTY e-Navigator Planning Station. As Product Manager, Nathanael represents the needs of the customer on major UKHO project deliveries such as new product developments. He is also an expert user of ADMIRALTY digital products and has delivered training at many events worldwide.
